A CYCLIST'S COMPLAINT
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l am a resident of Lower Hutt, and ride a bicycle. On Sund_y afternoon last I was riding between V.I.C. and Park avenue. I was careful to keep well to the side of the bitumen to give cars a wide berth,- when a car came dashing past at the rate of forty to fifty miles an hour. Although the driver of this car had the whole width of the road at his disposal, apparently for'-.some, malignant reason, he came over to my side when lushing, past, and>.l <caii. safely say he was not more than about six inches from me when— passing. —Had-'-I-wobbled nt-that moment in the least, I should have been instantly killed., I certainly had a very "near call. Drivers such as this should be: well punished, they should be held u]> to the execration of all decent motorists, . and exposed for such brutality.—l am, AN ELDERLY BICYCLIST. : Lower Hutt, sth May.
