C. Kelleway, in the "Daily Express," declares that the wicket was good, giving opportunity to attempt something like batting. Nevertheless the batting before lunch was dull, neither Collins nor Taylor showing any enterprise. The partnership of Ponsford and Gregory was easily the brightest.
