CHINESE TRADERS
RESENTMENT IN CANTERBURY.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
Resentment at the growing hold of the Chinese in the fruit trade and their rapid spread to other trades was expressed by a meeting of the Canterbury fruit-growers, and it was decided to write to the Minister of Internal Affairs endorsing the action of the Government in placing an embargo on the entry of Chinese to New Zealand until the end of the year. It was also agreed to bring the whole matter of a "White N«w Zealand" under the notice of the Trades and Labour Council.
