ELECTION TAKES PLACE TO-NIGHT.
The election of school committees in the Wellington district will take place at meetings of householders to-night, and parents will also have an opportunity of discussing general school mat-, ters and making recommendations to the authorities. Possibly one of the main matters to be introduced will be the question of expenditure on school buildings. In the case of most of the city schools nominations closed a week ago, but in the smaller schools nominations will be received up to the time of the election. Meetings will commence at 7.30 o'clock. The Wellington Education Board is endeavouring, to obtain a roll of honour of those who have served on school committees, and chairmen of meetings to-night would assist the board by forwarding to the secretary the names of chairmen and members of committee . who .have served in an honorary position for a period of ten years or more. It is hoped to make the record a complete one, and'this can only be done by the co-operation of committeemen themselves. ..'..'.
