TO PLAY IN WELLINGTON
ON BATTLE ANNIVERSARIES
CAEILLON SOCIETY'S DECISIONS,
A number of important deeisionj were reached at a meeting of the "GoneYal Committee of the "Wellington War Memorial Carillon Society held in "No;----1 Committee Eoom, Town Hall;' last evening. Those present werd Messra. E. D. Bennett (chairman), E. Tait, E. C. Alderson, B. E. Muir, G. Ardrey,<fi H. Burgoyne Thomas, G. Mitchell, *E; "A; E. Jones, W. S. Wilson, E. G. Pllcner (hon. treasurer), Mrs. Muir, and Mrs. li. B. Line. - v • '/. Ii was resolved to change-the' name of tho society from "The •Wellington Carillon Society" to "The Wellington War Memorial Carillon Society," Incorporated," and to take steps-to .inc^r*' porate the society. ■ . r.... ■..,.■ It was decided that the bells'Tb'e played on the "anniversaries df^tiA principal battles and engagements in which the New Zealand ExpediivOHary Force participated, and also Of naval engagements in which H.M.&. New Zealand took a prominent part. A list of 34 of these dates, spread over the whole year, and already-ap-proved by high officers of the -l&Z.E.F., was adopted. ■ It was--further resolved that, in addition' to- these dates, tho bolls should be played "-6n special occasions, limited to twenty ia number, and as approved by the-Wel-lington War Momorial Carillon ::Society. ....•* ,* iV,-*.-
