COAL OWNERS BLAMED BY MINE
LEADER
UNIONS WILL STAND BY MINERS.

The Miners' Federation secretary (Mr. A. J. Cook), in a speech at Pontefract, said: "It ia clear that the coal owners are using the opportunity to declare war against the mining community. I say most plainly and calmly that a serious crisis is involved. The owners' proposals are worse than those of last July. We will meet the council of the Trades Union Congress on Thursday. There ib no reason to doubt that they will stand ty us as they did in July, when we beat back all opposing forces. The crisis is not even national, it is international.
