EMPIRE THEATRE, ISLAND BAY.
A fine double-feature holiday programme Is being submitted to-night at the Empire Theatre. "By Divine Right" is the main feature, Elliott Dexter, Mildred Harris, and Anders Randolph being the Btars. The supports are good. To-morrow "East Lynne" will be shown. It is a new pictwe, and t>ii excellent interpretation by Alma Rubens, Marjory Daw, and Frank Keenan.
Mr. Bernard V. Page (City Organist) gave his usual weekly organ recital .at the Town Hall last evening. The programme was .arranged as follows:— Overture to "A Midsummer Nights Dream," by Mendelssohn; Keverie, by Debussy; Intermezzo from Suite for Orchestra (Op. 43), by Tchaikovsky; Minuetto, •by Capocci; Fantaisie in A, by Cesar Franck; "Peer Gynt" Suite (Op. 46), by Grieg.
