HARRIERS
The annual mneeting of the Hutt Valley Harriers' Club was held inPetone last week. There was a good attendance. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr. G. Dome;. president,. Mr". ;H» Sanders; : .-vice-presidents,"- Messrs.- M'-Kay,, Kent, Ewart, Moore, Anderson, : Brown, Sharpe, Townsend, Sutherland, Cotton, and Goddard; captain Mr. N. , Craig; deputy-captain, Mr. D. Smellie; Press reporter, Mr. D. Hope; starter, Mr. H. Sanders; handieappers, Messrs. Sanders and Craig; lion, secretary, Mr. F. Sanders; assistant secretary., Mr. J. Stapleton; hon. treasurer, Mr. ,D. Smellie; hon. auditor, Mr. C. Goddard; centre delegates, Messrs. C. Bowler and J. M'Kee; H.S.C. delegates, Messrs. N. Craig and J. Humphries; committee, Messrs. G. Woods; A. Eyres, R. Kent, and T. Hurly. An informal run was held from Hutt Park last Saturday, over a five miles course. About twenty took part, and the run was greatly enjoyed. A 200 yards run in was held on the Hutt Park and was won by. K. Kent, with N. Craig a close second, D. Smellie third, and D. Dome fourth. Next week the club will take part in the official opening ceremony at Lyall BaT- ' . '
