BABY FATALLY SCALDED
TE KUITI, This Day. A child one year old, the son of H. O. Amundsen, a bushman at Kopaki, was badly scalded on Thursday evening, and died on Friday evening. Three children were'sitting in front of a log fire on which a*, kettle, had , been placed. A log rolled, .and the contents of the boiling kettle .poured over the child and badly scalded ■'. it from the waist downward.' Owyig to the state of the roads the child had to wait at the Kopaki' Station for three hours to catch a train, a motor-car not being able to get through to Te Kuiti. At the inquest, held yesterday ..morning, the Coroner brought in a .verdict that death was caused. by shock 'due to scalds.. '.',.' " •. ' ;;
