ODDFELLOWSHIP
NEW LADIES' LODGE INSTITUTED: AT MIRAMAR.
Despite the wet weather, the sixth local ladies' branch of the Independent Order of Oddfellows of Now Zealand, had a very auspiciotis opening at tho Miramar South School on Wednesday evening, and will meet fortnightly thereafter in St. Aidan's Hall. There was a very largo and representative gathering of members of the city and suburban,lodges of the Order, the Eastbourne Lodges (Muritai and 0-Kiwi-Iti Eebokah) also being represented. The' meeting having been declared an 1.0.0. F. Icclgo meeting; by the Lady District Deputy Grand Master (Sister E. Maley, P.N.G.), tho lodge was oponod in the usual manner by Sister R. H. Pinch, P.N.G., Acting N.G., and officers from the several local Rebekah Locoes. Tho Grand Master-(Bro. D. Roy Cuopor, Auckland), was received by the Grand Representatives, Bros. 1\ ,T. .Tones, P.G., and G..V. Rudkln, P.G.----0.11., coikUicLcml into tho lodge, and welcomed w:V Ihe honours of tho .Order. The cnndia.'iU'S for the now lodge were then iiitrofluccil and initiated in tho Rcbokah Degree by Sister R, 11. Finch, N.G., and her officers. The Grand Master next took over tho meeting, and with the assistance of the District . Deputy Grand Master (Bro. 11. Dailies,' P. 0.), and Bros. If. Finch, P.D.D.G.M.; P. J. .Tones, P.G.j'and G. 3b\ Eudkin, P.G.G.H., instituted Rahiri ltcbcktih Lodge, No. 4!), in tho proscribed manner, tho charter members being Sisters (Mesdames) M. Seijgent, E. Phillips, E. Bone, X Baker, G, Gray, A. Legge, E. Mann, N. Martin, and J. Tahiwi. The installation o£ the elected and appointed officers, as follows, was then carried out in ample form by the Grand Master and tho Lady District Deputy Grand Master, assisted by a suite of P.N.G.'s, drawn from the city Robckah Lodges:—Sisters M.
