ALL-NIGHT SITTING
COMMONS ON ECONOMY BILL.

The Housj of Commons rose after an all : night sitting, which lasted nineteen hours, when tho Government secured the passage of! clause 1 of the Economy Bill, providing for a reduction of contributions to the National Health Insurance Fund, instead of the first two clauseSj, which the Government hoped to pass before Easter. The Opposition contended that tho clause was unjust to 15,000,000 insured persons, whose chances t 6f additional- benefits would be curtailed by the reduction of contributions.
