ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
(By Telegraph —Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, 29th March. Otto Barr, an elderly farmer at Tarata, was found drowned in a crsek on his property to-night. A neighbour became alarmed when he failed to return to his house, and made a search. He had not been enjoying good health lately. '- CHRISTCHURCH, 29th March. Laurence Suckling, who was injured at Templeton on Saturday afternoon in a collision between his motor-truck and a goods train, is still in a serious condition, though the hospital authorities advised to-day that ho had slightly improved. He regained consciousness yesterday. TIMARU, 29 th March. The two-year-old son of J. S. Williams, Temuka, was found drowned in a barrel in which there was two feet of water. INVERCARGILL,' 29th March. Advice has been received of an accident on Friday, in. Catlin's River district, resulting in the death of a sawmill hand, Charles Kirkland. It appears that a log rolled on to him and caused fatal injuries. Kirkland, who was 36 years of age, and was employed at the Lauriston Mill, Tahakopo, lost an arm about two years ago as a result of an accident at Waikawa. He leaves a widow and four children.
