(Con.) .. 8,740 E. Young (Liberal) 1,276 The vacancy was caused by the death of Mr. John Kobertson' (Labour). ■ The figures for the 1924 General Election were: —J. Eobertson (Labour), 14,591; Mrs. H. B. Shaw (Con.), 11,314.
