The Riga correspondent of " Tho Times" says that life in Leningrad is becoming more: difficult. The housing problem is acute, resulting in the revival of compulsory billeting. Unemployment is increasing at the rate of 10,000 a month, and now has reacht>3 88,000. The conditions in other industrial centres are equally grave.
