ME A. L. MONTEITH COMMENCES DUTY. ■Members of the Arbitration Court will leave for Napier to-morrow mornI ing Mr. A. L. Montcith, who has been ! appointed to succeed Mr. Hiram Huutcr as union assessor on the Court, has been advised by the Labour Department to proceed to Napier with the other members of the Court. It is probable that when the Cburt next sits in Wellington local unions will take advantage of the opportunity to publicly congratulate Mr. Monteith on his appointment. . DECISION RESERVED . .-; *- ■ ■ ' The case in which Henry Maxwell, .1 commission, agent, claimed £97. from Evelyn Cowan, a widow, of Wellington, in respect of .loans alleged- to have been made to her, and which was heard in conjunction with, a counter-claim by Mrs. Cowan for £09, said to be due to her for the l;oard of Maxwell and his children, was concluded at the Magistrate V Court yesterday afternoon.. After two more witnesses for the defondant had given their evidence, Mr. B. Page, S.M., reserved his decision.
