THEFT FROM THE MAILS

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) TIMARU, ThUDv John William Davey, a Postal offi cial, was charged at the Magistrate's Court to-day with the theft of Postal packets containing sums of money totalling £15, and was also charged with extracting £3 from a postal packet in hansmision, and with opening postal packets on two occasions. The accused pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail was allowed.
