AUSTRALIA TAKEN TO TASK
ATTEMPT TO BELITTLE NEW ZEALAND TOUR.

"This belated interference is most unjustified," comments the "Athletic News," referring to the Australian Bugby League's attempt to belittle New Zealand's forthcoming visit by suggesting in a cable to the Bugby League Council that the invitation is a mistake, because the prestige of New Zealand and Australian League football is likely to suffer as a result of New Zealand's weak representation. The "Athletic News," however, recalls that the Australians were beaten in recent Antipodean Tests, whereas New Zealand won the rubber. ' The council has rightly decided to inform the Australian League that all arrangements for the tour are now completed.
