A BOXING TOURNEY.

Kirkpatrick, provided the next bout, and the former made the better showing of the two A. Birch then tried conclusions with B. Kirkpatrick, who were followed by T Harris, ex-heavyweight champion ot Queensland, and A. Brown, in a heavyweight bout which was lacking in colour but not in amusement. A lively bout was that fought between A. Horsfal and i<. Stone, while C. Tonks and J. Stewart also gave a good account of themselves. ■ lwo novices, Blaxall and Flinn, were keen in their bout, which' was followed by the final and most lively one of the evening, W. Horsfal and P. Moron being the opponents. Moron made matters very willing, but got a, fair return from Ins agile opponent. The bout was a fitting climax to a most enjoyable series of contests. Mr. Thompson1 thanked the various local sports clubs and boxing schools for their active interest in the entertainment, and apologised for the unavoidable absence of the members of the House Committee. He also said that he hoped another tourney would be held in the near future, and invited those interested to come again. An enjoyable supper was provided by the hostesses," Mesdames E. Johnston, B.
