THE WEATHER
A CHANGE LIKELY. Cold, unsettled, and show,ory ,weatber has been experienced, but improved conditions were in evidence this morning in the East Coast districts, southerly winds having moderated and veered to westerly since last night. Although atmospheric pressure haa increased in districts about Cook Strait, it is still below normal everywhere, and showed a similar distribution this morning to that which has ruled on several occasions since the beginning of the month; Westerly winds aTe likely to increase in force. Warmer conditions should be experienced for a short time, especially in the. East Coast districts, but the indications are f:>x changeable and squally weather generally, with rain in all the western dis tricts.
