CYCLONE IN QUEENSLAND

BBISBANE, This Day.
As a result of a cyclone between Townsville and Cardwell (90 miles from Townsville), to 14 inches of rain are recorded for 24 hours. Much of the surrounding country is covered by 6 inches to 2 feet of water, and the Herbert Biver is rising rapidly. Railway traffic is held up owing to washouts.
