EMPRESS THEATRE.

"The Fighting Cub," which heads an excellent programme at present being shown at the Empress Theatre, will be screened for the last time to-night. The cast is a noteworthy one and contains no less than seven popular players. The story concerns the adventures of a young reporter in his efforts to capture a band of jewel thieves. Florence Vidor and Edward Horton head a fine cast in "Marry Me." A delightful comedy and a Pathe Gazette completes a fine entertainment. "THE LUCKY DEVIL." Something extra special is promised patrons of the Empress Theatre in the programme which commences to-morrow. "The Lucky Devil" is the tale of a young | fellow who spent the earlier part of his life dreaming of what he would do if he ever got a good car, and then when luck came his way—what he did. All the scraps he got into, the money he was fleeced out of ..how he was arrested once and almost a second time, how he fell in love with a beautiful girl and followed her for miles and miles, how he entered his car in a big auto race and won the money and the girl, gives more thrills to the minute than ever experienced in a picture before. Richard Dix and Esther Ralston are the stars. "Welcome Stranger," the second feature, was adapted from the great Broadway play by Aaron Hoffman, and the cast includes Florence Vidor, Dore Davidson, Virginia Browne Faire, Noah Beery, Lloyd Hughes, Robert Edeson, William V. Mong, and Otis Harlan. It is the story of a Jew who was not wanted in a village, but who cast his bread on the waters and it came back sandwiches, as he said later. A comedy and the latest Pathe Gazette will -also be shown. The Empress Distinctive Orchestra will be heard in a splendid selection of incidental' music.
