RECENT OFFER BY EMPLOYERS
SETTLEMENT HELD UP BY
LYTTELTON.
Although no . information is forthcoming locally, it 'is reported that, with the exception of the Lyttelton men, all the Waterside Workers' Unions throughout New Zealand have agreed to work on Saturday afternoons in accordance with the employers' recent offer of the extension of the award for twelve months, and an increase of lid per hour on the basic wage, subject to certain concessions by watersidcrs. ■
It is understood that the employers will not grant the concessions until a complete settlement is reached throughout New Zealand.
