THE CLAYTON STEAM CARRIAGE.
A more ambitious vehicle, designed to handle passenger, traffic on the main lines when traffic is light. It has comfortable seating accommodation for 57 people, and is attractively upholstered and finished.- Steam power is generated at one end,' but the ear is controllable from either end. It has been tried out on the Hutt and Manawatu lines, and is being used on the time-table for the first time to-day.
