MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. E. Page, S.M., presided at the sitting of the Magistrate's Court this morning.
Thomas Murphy, with a previous conviction for drunkenness against him, was fined 10s, or, in default of payment, 48 hours in gaol. Theresa Russell was OTderefiL to come up for "sentence when called npon on a charge of using indecent language, and was ordered to make good the damago on a charge of committing hust chief by breaking a window in a cell at the police station. A further charge of being an idle and disorderly person was dismissed. A charge of being in arrears in respect of a maintenance order to the extent of £1,68 19s 7d, preferred against Richard Thomas Hoarn, was dismissed, the Magistrate remarking that action could be taken when the man secured employment.
