N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS

WELLINGTON CENTRE'S

DECISIONS.

The Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association met last evening, Mr. A. C. Kitto (president) being in the chair.

Advice was received from the Otago Centre that the New Zealand championship meeting would be held at Dunedin on the 19th and 2uth March. An offer regarding accommodation for the Wellington team to take part in the championships was accepted. Mr. A. C. Eitto was appointed manager of the. Wellington team to visit Dunedin, and Messrs. J. O 'Sullivan and Eitto were appointed to represent the centre at the conference to be held in Dunedin.

It was decided that the Wellington team should consist of not more than thirteen athletes, and that a lady athlete be included in the team. A limit of £150 was placed upon expenses for the trip. Various details in connection with ne*t Saturday's meeting were discussed. Acceptance of invitations to be preaent at the meeting was. received from the following:—The Hon. 0. Hawken (Minister of Agriculture), and the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr- and Mrs. C B. Norwood). The Prime Mnister wrote regretting that he would be unable to attend the meeting owing to absence from Wellington.

Application was made by the Manawatu Sub-centre for the reinstatement of B. Le Compte, an ex-eyclistj who was desirous of coaching the cyclists in the Dannevirke A.A. Club. It was decided to mako a favourable recommendation to the New Zealand Council.
