EDUCATION WEEK

ADDRESSES ARRANGED,

Further arrangements have been made in connection with Education Week to be organised by the Workers' Educational Association from Ist to 6th March, inclusive. The proceedings will be opened on Monday, Ist March, with a short address on "Education and Citizenship," and on the same evning Professor T. A. Hunter will speak upon "Education and Life." Mr. P. Fraser, M.P., has been selected by the Wellington Trades and Labour Council to speak on the Tuesday evening, on "Education and Labour," Mr. E. Kennedy presiding. On the following night there will probably be two speakers on the subjects of primary , and secondary education. The speakers and the chairman will be arranged by the ; odneational bodies in Wellington, and the matter is in the hands of the secretary of the Headmasters' Association. On the Thursday of Education Week it is proposed to have an address on "Education and Commerce," and the Chamber of Commerce has been asked to appoint a speaker. On the Friday Professor J. 8. Tennant will speak on the subject "Arjustment to Environment," and the chairman will be arranged by the School Committees' Association. On the final night, Mr. J. H. Howell, director of the Wellington Technical College, will speak on "Technical Education."

A meeting will be held on Wednesday evening to arrange further details. It will probably be decided that the lectures shall occupy about half the evening, the rest of the time being devoted to a free discussion by the audience.
