BOY SCOUTS AND GIRL GUIDES
REMARKS BY THE GOVERNOR-
GENERAL.
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Pest.") AUCKLAND, This Day."" Reference to the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides movement was made by the Gov-ernor-General in his speech at Rotorua at a smoke concert given in his honour by Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. Hit Excellency remarked that there were steps by which energy and self-reliance could be taught. During the last eighteen months steps had been taken to reorganise these movements, but they would bo useless unless discipline and organisation were well carried out. It was proposed to refuse permission for the formation of any troop that did not have a strong local committee behind it.
