CITY COUNCIL STAFF.

I . Members of the staff of the City Council on Friday held their annual picnic and sports at Williams Park,. Day's Bay, the weather, but for a shower in the morning, being altogether pleasant. Tennis, excursions into the bush, and games were indulged in, but the chief attraction was the sports meeting held in the pavilion grounds. Picnic sports are not as other - sports, they are held for the ■ fun of:the thing, and spectators and competitors enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
