Colonel A. Savilej late of the 31st Indian Lancers, arrived at Auckland by the Arawa on Thursday, accompanied 'by Mrs. Savile. Colonel Savile, who recently retired from the Army after over twenty-five years' service, intends to settle in. Auckland.

The Minister of Labour, Mines, and Marine (the Hon. G. J. Andersony, who arrived from the South yesterday, left this afternoon for the North Auckland district/ where ho will attend to marine matters at Whangarei and discuss wharf facilities at Kus3ell. He expects to return to Wellington on Thursday.
