WELSH SOCIETY'S PICNIC
The annual picnic of the Wellington Welsh Society was held at Khandallah Park on Anniversary Day, when a very large number of Wellington Welshmen met together for a day's sport. Mr. G. E. Raymond, of Bhondda Valley, aud Mr. Noel Evans, the president of the society, were judges of the sports, Mr. J. Jones starter, and Mr. J. Boberts handicapper. Mrs. Evans presented the prizes to the winners, and in doing so moved that the thanks of the society be accorded the donors of tho various prizes. Apologies were read from early Welsh settlers in Wellington, who, owing to sickness and other unavoidable causes, wore not sble to be present. The choir sang a few selections during the day, and a very enjoyable event was closed at the end of the day with the singing of the Welsh National Anthem.
