PARAMOUNT THEATRE.

Pictures and vaudeville drew a large audience to the Paramount Theatre last evening, where the popular Futurists presented a complete change of programme in conjunction with the usual feature film. This week's bill contains much that is new and pleasing, and patrons showed thfiir appreciation in no uncertain manner by insistent demands for encores. The "Ragtime Army" number, ill which Miss Ira Love took the lead, opened the ball, and the charming piece, "Old Crinoline Days" was well taken by the same wintiome soubrette. Mr. George Corelli's fine tenor voice mastered "La Donna c Mobile" (from "Rfgoletto"), with but few faults, and he was later heard to advantage in harmony with Misses Winnie Edgerton, Gladys Thomas (a fine contralto), antj Mr. Barry Ross. "Show Me the Way to Go Home" was vociferously encored. The comedian and dancer of the company, Mr. Gus Dawson, was quite at home in "You've Got to Give Them Something to Remembar You By," and "Mary Ellen," with Miss Eily Dalgleish. Mr. Ross had a splendid baritone numb Ir to offer, and Mr. G. W. Desmond was more than amusing as a "dame" in selections from famous pantomimes. Miss Edgerton's. Spanish ballad in character, with castanet accompaniment, set the feet a-tapping. The sketches included "The Cat and the Canary," "Winsome Winnie," and "The Sad Tale of a Dog" (cleverly acted by Messrs. G. W. Desmond and C. Northcote), and were well up to the high standard of humour set last week. The feature picture is entitled "The Pace That Thrills," and deals with the story of an actor, whose life is being spent to secure a pardon for his wrongly-impris-oned mother. "The Pace That Thrills" is a lively comedy-drama which really entertains. Ben Lyon and beautiful Mary Astor have the leading roles.
