DUNEDIN, This Day. ' The chess championship continued yesterday and this morning. Besuits:— Stenhouse v. Crakanthorp.—After resuming Crakanthorp improved his position and with the pawn won. At the flrat session he succeeded in defeating Stenhouse by threatening a mate or loss of a queen for a knight. SECOND BOTJND. Dunlop v. Erskine (Alecthine's defence).—The game developed into an old form of th« French, end after exchanges Erskine captured a pawn, which gave Dunlop a strong attack, v which he succeeded" in carrying through. . Anderson v. Barnes (Guioco Piano). —Anderson's tenth move was bad and Barnes took full advantage of it and won. Btcnhouse v. Crakanthorp (Queen's Pawn game).—Crakanthorp won a pawn in the early stages, yhich reduced his forces, and he won the game by steady safe play. Hicks, Miller defeated Fairburn. Bound 3.—Purdy defeated Fairburn ; Hicks drew with Davie, Helling and Miller unfinished, Kclling having a material advantage at tho adjournment.
