Fine weather has prevailed for the holidays, and pleasure-makers have thus been able to enjoy outdoor sports to the full. There has been a pleasing absence o£ accidents, although the traffic, especially of motor-cars, has been exceptionally heavy. To-day was observed by some of the business people as an additional holiday.
Complaint has been : ade by the superintendent of the fire brigade of late about the low water pressure. Yesterday morning at 11.15 o'clock it was as low as 381b to the square inch, and it lias at times been as low as 2011) and 251b. The pressure needed for efficient ft'retightins is estimated at 1001b to the square inch.
The second Sunday exenvsion train.to Foston proved a success this week, the tunnlcr of passengers hcinz 220.
