(Received 21st November, 9 a.m.) LUXOR, 20th November. .The removal of Tutankhamen's mummy will be impossible owing to its being firmly glued to.the bottom of the gold coffin by a pitchlike material form-.' ed from libations. ' The golden mask reaching to the thorax is also firmly glued to both the face and coffin. The features, prove that the, statues and effigies found in the tomb are exact portraits of the king. Numerous layers of golden faience and ornaments, including amulets and royal insignia, covering the body to the knees, i prevented the success of the examination. Spontaneous combustion destroyed the bandages and caused the skin underly-. ing the tissues to become tMn and brittle, exposing the joints, from which it was established that the king was aged eighteen.
