WELLINGTON SOUTH
MR. SIEVWRIGHT AT BROOKLYN
St. Matthew's Hall, Brooklyn, was crowded when Mr. A. B. Sievwright. Nationalist candidate for Wellington South, spoko there last ovening. Captain Nicholson presided.
Mr. Sievwright trenchantly condemned the Labour Party's land policy of confiscation, and said the Labour. Party's policy would, if adopted, prevent a man acquiring his own house. Ho urged ths maintenance of a defence policy commensurate with economy. The Labours Party stood to repeal our present defence policy, put nothing in its place. In 'the ve"ry next plank of the Labour Party's platform, "political unity of the workers of all countries" was urged. That meant that New Zealand -would be laid open to the peaceful penetration of Asiatic nations, and the abandonment of the maintenance of a "white" New Zealand policy. With such an. aim the candidates of the Labour Party' in Wellington South deserved the condemnation of the; electors. ;
Mr. ylevwright answered a large number of questions, and was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence.
