The Norwegian steamer Elven, bound from liotterdam to Sydney, which stood by i'or the purposo of rescuing the crew of tho storm-stricken Italian freighter Jgnacio I'lorio in mid-Atlantic last week, fell a victim to the samo storm, and was abandoned 1400 milr.s east of New York, according to a wireless from the steamer American Trader.

Tho Trader is bringing the crew of eleven to New York.

The rudder of tho Elver, was smashed and her lifeboats were curried away.

The United Stales liner President Harding rescued the crew of (lit, l"iim;io I'lorio.
