LEAGUE WILL SAFEGUARD HONOUR

PARIS, 26th October

The League Council deliberated in private for an hour before announcing its decision in the Greco-Bulgarian dispute. This was embodied in a resolution drawn up by Mr. Chamberlain, the terms of which wore first privately communicated to the disputants, in view of their severity. Tho resolutions emphasised the gravity of the action, and stated that it would to intolerable and an affront to civilisation for such incidents to lead to warliko operations, instead of submission to tho Council. The League- would always safeguard tho honour and interests of nations whoso differences it was called on to settle.

Tho time limits run from to-night. The Council will meet again to-morrow. Satisfaction is felt that the Council so speedily reached a unanimous decision.
