A letter was received from tho Auckland Association suggesting that ilio J'lunkct .Shield-match, Auckland v. AVelllngion, should take place at Wellington at Christmas. A member pointed out that tho use of tho Basin 11-oMcrvc had hpcn gran tod to the Caledonian " Hociofy on Boxing Bay, and the suggestion w;is made L>y Mr. Brice thai, an endeavour should ho nisi do to get the soi:iety to hold their inootini.; 011 22nd January.

After some discussion it, was decided lo communicate with Auckland as follows: "Basin. Kescrvc uot
available Christmas; Wo suggest Auckland plays Wellington on Basin on Ist, Slid, and 4th January."
The Canterbury Association suggested New Ye.'tr diites for their match with Wellington, but in view of the decision reached in tho ciise of the Aueltlaiul match it was decided to defer consideration of the matter until a reply had been received fi'oin Auckland.
The matter of pl'oviding'accominodtition for scorers and Press representatives at the Basin Reserve was left in the hands!of tho senior "championship committee.
The committee discussed a proposal to piny a Town v. Country match" on 2Sth and 2Dth January, Tho idea was opposed by Mr. Bficc, who expressed the opinion thilt tho ' team had not been improved by the addition of country players. Ho favoured the giving of a greater chance to promising- colts. :
Tho chairman said that the matter was for the committee, to decide. As a justification of the committee-'s policy in regard to country playct's. Mr. Wilson quoted the action of tho Nelson Association in' making the suggestion that an endeavour should be made to link up with the "Wellington Association so far as Phmket Shield matches were concerned.
After some further discussion, tho matter was allowed to drop.
