NEW ZEALAND EXHIBITORS AT
LONDON SALON.

LONDON, 22nd September. Several New Zealanders have had photographs hung at the International Exhibition of tho Lou do v Salon of Photography now in progress. One photograph especially is 'attracting a great deal of attention. It is by Mr. W. T. Owen (formerly of Wanganui). He has been, particularly fortunate in catching the passing but most alluring smile of a babe not more than four months old.' The picture is entitled "Tickled to Death." The infant happens to be a young New Zealander too, or rather the child of New Xealanders visiting this country. It is certainly one of the most popular pictures of the Salon. Mr. Owen also exhibits a.picture called "The Colonnade," showing a series of cathedral pillars lighted by the sun and seen through a darkened arch. Mr. James Trcloar, of Hamilton, is .•mother exhibitor. "Tho Day . of licsfc" is a scene of a, quiet comer somewhere in Auckland Harbour. Two yachts, the Opaua .-nut the Curlew, aro at anchor, and another is lying on the sand nearby. Tho enclolsing background is .formed oi: the wharf piles witlusteps leading to the C|unv above. The other study is a. half-length portrait of a laclv.
Mr. 11. .\i. Gaze, of Hnmilloii, exhibits a picture entitled "A Worker in Clay." It is a. stmly of a girl in overall working, (mi the clay bust ol' a man in profile. The picture is artistically produced with rather dark shadows.
Miss U. Gariiuh, ol! Auckland, shows a yacht racing scene in Auckland Harbour. A group of some seven or eight yachts in full sail are
"Rounding the Buoy," and this is the title given to a line u'-dy.
