RACIAL BRAWL
FATAL QUARREL IN TASMANIA,

HOBABT, This Day. Following nil altercation with a number of Italians, WiU'ifim Quimi, John Davis, and a, number of other young men visited the Kalians' Jiomn at Linda, and hroke the windows. A melee ensued, in which Quinn was fatally slabbed, Davis was seriously wounded, :md several other Auslraiians received minor injuries. One iv.alifin has been rti-resled.
The brawl was the outcome of raai.ii feeling which has been simmering- for a. long time owing to the local inhabitants resenting the employment oi' Italians in the North Lyell'mine.
