LODGE MEETINGS

Star of Petone Rebekah Lodge No. 45, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting last week,. Sister J. M. Goss, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance, and official visits were received from Sister F. Barrowmau, N.G., and officers of Victoria Rebekah Lodge, and Sister A. Taylor, N.G., and officers of Esther Kcjiekali Lodge. Bros. 11. Finch P.D.D.G.M., and G. F. Eudkin, P.G.- 1 G.H., represented District Lodge. Four lady candidates were nominated, and a motion to change the meeting place was tabled. On behalf of the Grand Master, Bro. Rudkin formally presented the lodge, hitherto working under dispensation, with its charter under Grand Lodge sea]. On concluding the meeting the lodge held a pleasant social, members of Heretaunga Lodge, and other friends attending. Bro. N. Craig and Sister A. Brown acted as pianists. The monthly meeting of Port Nicholson Encampment No. 6, 1.0.0. F., was held last week, Bro. J. Kind, P.G., C.P., presiding. There was a good attendance and seven members were advanced to the Golden Rule degree. Impromptu speaking -was fixed for nest meeting. An interesting address was delivered by the C.P.on the "Mottoes of the Order." Esther Rebekah Lodge A To. 30, 1.0.0. F., N. 2., Brooklyn, held its fortnightly meeting last Tuesday evening, Sister A. Taylor, N.G., presiding. Official visits'. 1 were received from the Lady District Deputy Grand Master (Sister E. Maley, P.N.G.), Sister F. Barrowman, N.G., and officers of Victoria Rsbekah Lodge; and Sister' D. Rickard, N.G., and officers of Boso of Wellington Rebekah Lodge. Among other visitors were: Bros. J. Pridmore, 1.G., J. H. West, P.G., and A. W. Wheeler, P.G. The Rebekah "500" shield ,\vas played foragainst Rose of Wellington Rebekah Lodge, resulting in a tie (6 points aside), the visitors being successful in a playoff game-

The fortnightly meeting of Wildey Lodge No. 107, 1.0.0.F../N.Z., Island, Bay, waa held last Wednesday evening Bro. A. V. Weeks, N.G., presiding! There was a good attendance of members, and Bros. H. Finch, P.DJD.G , H. A. Hardham, P.G.R., J. H. West, P.G. and D. Wallis (N.G., Zealandia Lodge, No. 48), wero present. The lodge held a social dance in conjunction with Rose of Wellington Rebekah Lodge, and a large number of members and friends attended. Bro. J. Craighead acted as M.C.,i and music was supplied by Miss Elliott (violin), Bros. D. Craighead (flute), and D. Wallis (piano). >: . . The regular meeting of Muritai Lodge No. 113, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., Eastbourne, 'was held .last Wednesday evening. A delegate was appointed to the District Picnic Committee. Maraenui Lodge No. 124, 1.0.C\F., N.Z., Miramar, held its ' fortnightly meeting last Wednesday evening, Bro H. 0. Cossgrove, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance, and an official visit was received from Bro. J. W. Pearson, N.G., and officers of' Heretaunga Lodge. Exports were received from the Queen Carnival and Bazaar Committee. The N.G. (Bro. H t 0. Cossgrove) was presented with a handsome clock in commemoration of his recent marriage. A friendly game of "500," in which the visitors wero; defeated terminated, the evening. The fortnightly meeting of Southern Cross Lodge No. 2A, 1.0.0.P., N.Z.. was -held last Thursday evening, Bro. R. C. Andrews, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance. Bros. C. Havill P.G., and R. Havill, V.G., of Wildey Lodge -No. 107, Island Bay, and Bro. Tregdea, of Mt. Arthur Lodge No. 127, Motueka, were also present. Several members were reported sick and relative sick pay passed, and seven candidates wero elected and initiated in regular form. Two further candidates >were nominated.

Victoria Rebekah Lodge No. 2, LO.---0.F., N.Z., Newtown, held its fortnightly meeting on Thursday evening, Sister F Barrpwman, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance, four lady candidates were elected and initiated, and two others were nominated. •
