; A largely attended meeting of Mount Morgan unionists decided* to give the company twenty-four .hours' notice to concede their demands for ; £2, per shift per man actually engaged,in .fighting the fire in the mine;; and £1 : "sterling for ■the other* engaged in the mine. If the, demands "are not.: granted '.-the men' threaten that they ,will call 'out those who are now at the mine.' ;,
