In each of the white squares you are to place one letter of a word which answers to the meaning given in the list against the correct number, until every word is lettered into the puzzle. When you have done this words which cross will interlock, and the puzzle will be solved. Certain white squares aro numbered; they are the squares which .start words; and each number refers to a correspondingly numbered definition. The black squares are only to end words, and are blank. Wordß run horizontally (from left to ri^ht) and vertically (downwards) until stopped by a black square or the edge of the puzzle.
