The latest postage stamps from the Suar Valley reproduce by tho artistic heliogravure process a celebrated picture of the Madonna with the Body of Christ crucified that is to be seen in tho important Palatine toivn of Bliekastel. Thus another of tlio world's art treasures is added to the miniature gallery of famous pictures and sculptures in tho stamp album of to-day. Such is the progress mado in the stamp engraver's art that it has been found possible to present within the restricted area of a postage stamp some faithful reproductions of the work of some of the most eminent artists, both ancient and modern. An Aldershnt manufacturer -who used to make 7000 clay pipes a week has just gone out of business because clay pipes are out of date.
