Such is the progress mado in the stamp engraver's art that it has been found possible to present within the restricted area of a postage stamp some faithful reproductions of the work of some of the most eminent artists, both ancient and modern. An Aldershnt manufacturer -who used to make 7000 clay pipes a week has just gone out of business because clay pipes are out of date.
