TO-DAY'S RESULTS
Though the weather was so very unfavourable, there were large attendances at the Town Hall and Concert .(Chamber this morning. This evening's programme will include a piano solo, 14 to 16 years, a character dance, a violin solo, several interesting children's items, an impromptu debate, and a story without words. To-day's results are as follow:— Violin Solo, 12 and under 16, "Sonata in G minor" (Purcell). —Recalls: Masters. S. Pomeroy, George Joseph, and Francis Hopkins. English Song (soprano), folk or traditional, own selection.—Recalls: Misses Jeannette Briggs, Myra Clegg, Rita Masson (Carterton), and Eileen Kimbell (Lower Hutt). Highly commended: Misses Joan Lowry (Otaki) and A. White (New Plymouth). , " ■ . Operatic or dramatic bass solo, own selection.—Eecalls : Messrs. G. H. Neel and Cecil Chambers (Johnsonville). Piano Solo, 14 and under 16, "Impromptu No. 2" (Coleridge Taylor).— Recalls: Misses Vera Tolan, Jean Nichol, and Molly Evans (Petone). Highly commended: Miss Gladys M'Leod.
Reading at Sight, girls under 16.— Final: Misses Kathleen Chappie (Christchurch) and Mavis Windsor, 89 points, 1 (equal); Miss Sinclair Breen, 88 points, 3. Highly commended: Misses Sadie Phillips, Esme Evans (Christchurch), Kitty Steffan, and Gracie Kerr.
