ANOTHER WIRELESS RECORD
GISBOBNE IN TOUCH WITH THE AECTIC. (II mIQRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) GISBORNE, This Day. Mr. O'Meara, the Gisborne wireless amateur, created another record last night by communicating with the Macmillan Arctic Expedition ship Peary at Etah, Greenland, 12 degrees from the North Pole. Mr. O'Meara also took from the ship a message for the Gov-ernor-General of New Zealand, and this was telegraphed to its destination this morning. The Peary also announced that it intended to broadcast a programme of Eskimo folk song and music ■on a wavelength of 36 metres from Etah, Green- ! land. This concert will be sent out between the hours of 5 and 6 a.m. on 30th August, 75th Meridian time, whichcorresponds" with 10 p.m. on 31st August, New Zealand time.
