WILLASTON DELAYED AT BLUFF
INVERCARGILL, 27th August. Twenty-five men out of the- crew of forty of the steamer Willaston at Bluff have refused duty, and are demanding the wages of July last.. The vessel has been held up since Sunday. Fifteen men who signed on under New Zealand articles' remain on duty. The strikers' funds arc running low, and in anticipation of trouble the Bluff police force has been strengthened. 'The position as yet is quiet.
