MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. W. G. Eiddell, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court this morning. One first offender for drunkenness was convicted and discharged, and another was fined 10s, in default 24 hours' imprisonment-
Charged with assaulting a Chinaman named Leslie Yew, Joseph Brough (23) was fined £3, in default sevon days' imprisonment, and for using in-decent language he was fined £2, in default seven days' imprisonment. He was convictedand discharged for being drunk. Herbert John Norman, a railway fireman, a.ged 23, who pleaded guilty to a charge of stenling £12. tha property of Robert Donald Ham, was admitted to probation for ono y»yr on terms to be l.rrtnured by the Probation Officer,
