TWO DETECTORS
A crystal receiver can be very greatly improved by using two detectors and a iimple switch to bring either into action. The adjustable portions of the twee detectors should be. connected together and to the telephones, and the fixed, portions (crystal cups) connected to a pair of switch-points, with either of which a switch can make contact. This-switch is connected to the tuner. Working with one detector, a sensitive point is found. Then the Bwitch is changed over to tho other detector, andean effort is.made to make it give better signals'-than tho-first, which, of course, remains as it was, ready for comparison. Each, can be set against the other, and th o utmost 'sensitivity can be reached much core quickly and certainly than i? on'ry one detector ;s in use. Anothw big advantage is that if the detector in use is accidentally put out of adjustment the other enn be' insl^itly switched in.
