AUCKLAND, This Day

A special meeting of the New Zealand League Council was held last evening to discuss the report of the managers of ihe New Zealand team in Australia.

Mr. N. Culpan read a statement coveriag the tour, and expressed the opinion that the team had done remarkably well. . • • . '

Mr. Mair, the New Zealand League's representative on the Australian Board of Control, presented an engraved walking stick to Mr. J. Carlaw on behalf of the president of the- Queensland League. Mr. Mair also presented the council with an enlarged photograph of the teams played on tour. Mr. Mair will coach the New Zealand team for the matches against Queensland.

The team to represent New Zealand against Auckland on Saturday has not been finally selected, "owing to a number of players suffering from injuries. It will be chosen from Gregory, Delgrosso, Kirwan, Parkes, Wetherall Saunders, Wilson, Hall, Webb, Brown, O'Brien, Green, Herring, Mouatt, Henry, Avery, Thomas, Lowry, and Dixon.

Tho Otago League wired that it was compelled to cancel the game with the Auckland touring team in Dunedin owing to no suitable ground being available. Keen disappointment was expressed at- the cancellation of the match. Tho tour was rearranged as follows :—Leave Auckland, 6th September, play Greymouth on 9th September; Christ-church 12th September.; Wellington, loth September. Tho altered itinerary will give players chosen for the tour a" chance of inclusion in -the first Test match against Queensland.
